My name is Kalena and I am from the island of Kauaʻi in Hawaiʻi.

I have been living in Fukuoka, Japan for the last 3 years as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) on the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program. I have a passion for exploring new places in Japan, from popular tourist attractions to middle-of-no-where gems. While in Japan, I hope to share my adventures as well as my thoughts and experiences with daily life as a foreigner living in Japan. As a side quest, I also aim to create connections with local people and businesses.
